Before creating your Internet connection, check if
the modem is installed correctly and plugged in your phone line.
Setup:
Click on the Start menu, then click on Control Panel.
Now go in Network Connections.
In the menu in the left, you will find
the Network Tasks section.
Click on Create a new connection.
In the window that just opened,
click Next.
Select Connect ot the Internet and
click Next.
Choose the Set up my connection manually option
and click Next.
Select Connect using a broadband connection
that requires a user name and password click Next.
Type the connection name: Altima.Net
Internet and click Next.
Enter your Username and your Password in their respective
fields and check the desired options.
Click Next.
Check the option Add a shortcut to this
connection to my desktop and click Finish.
Right click on the connection Altima.Net
Internet and then click on Properties.
In the Networking tab,
click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on Properties.
Select the option Use the following DNS
server addresses.
For the preffered DNS server,
type 66.199.144.6 and for the
alternate DNS, type 66.199.144.9.
Now click OK. You come back
to the previous window, also click OK for this one.
Now, open your connection. The username and password
you entered previously appear here. Verify all the data then click
on Connect.
You should be connected now.
